Tri-Valley Elementary School, located in Downs, IL, is one of three high achieving schools within the Tri-Valley School District. We are proud of our accomplishments. With the award to the elementary school, every school in the district has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. Tri-Valley's small-town feel makes it a desirable location to raise a family in the heart of Illinois. Our student population is over 340 students, pre-kindergarten through 3rd grade. Our stakeholders - staff, students, parents, and community members are committed to our academic excellence. This was never more evident than when the elementary school faced a crisis in the fall of 2015. Mold was discovered in our building, and the elementary students were uprooted and placed in either the middle or high school. Teachers throughout the district were displaced to make room for our young children. The transition was amazingly smooth. The community and staff banded together to turn a difficult situation into an opportunity to increase an already strong sense of family. The academic excellence we have achieved is due to our ability to work as a cohesive group in which everyone's opinion is valued and respected. In today's educational world, there are many distractions, but our focus remains on high levels of achievement. We continue to evaluate our influence on the whole child and then critically analyze our own roles so that we can grow and change to meet the needs of the ever-changing world of education.
