Countryside community breaks ground to make Hoops Dream come true!

Countryside Elementary School is located in Barrington Hills, Illinois, and serves 414 students in kindergarten through grade 5. Countryside is one of 12 schools in the Barrington 220 School District.

One of the first schools established in the Barrington area in 1942, the Countryside community embraces cultural diversity and celebrates unique qualities in every student. Countryside offers many exceptional opportunities for children including Chinese immersion, entrepreneurial and STEM curriculum, accelerated learning for gifted students, and specialized classrooms for students needing more support.

The school's staff members are committed to implementing best practice instruction and building a relationship-centered learning community. The Countryside culture is very focused on volunteerism, community outreach, and social-emotional competencies.

Countryside's staff has a passion for professional learning. They are encouraged to challenge the status quo in order to find new, more effective teaching strategies. This inquisitive behavior motivates students to also develop a sense of curiosity and excitement toward learning.

Realizing the importance of family involvement for student success, Countryside has many opportunities for parents to become part of the school community. The school is home to a passionate Parent Teacher Organization and parent volunteer groups who are an integral part of the learning environment.

Countryside promotes the development of emotional intelligence, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and positivity. These values combined with dedicated and hardworking students and staff have contributed to earning the National Blue Ribbon Schools recognition.
