Solomon Schechter: More than academic strength. The strength of identity.

Solomon Schechter Day School of Metropolitan Chicago is an independent Jewish day school, where our unique combination of general and Judaic studies imparts a deeply-rooted values system enabling critical thinkers to thrive. We fuse challenging, research-based curricula in disciplines from language arts, math, and science, with Hebrew and text study to give each child an exceptional education. Through our JSTEAM (Judaism, science, technology, engineering, art and math) program, and our new Innovation Studio, we're creating meaningful, engaging activities which students can use in real-world applications. By learning how to think for themselves, students discover their sense of self, and an understanding of how to fully engage in a Jewish life. Schechter's award-winning faculty and staff focus on developing students as learners whose passion and drive enables them to create a true impact on the future. A firm grounding in Jewish values and traditions creates a meaningful framework for our students' moral and character development.

Schechter graduates emerge as knowledgeable Jews and creative thinkers who can respect diverse ideas and opinions, feel passionately about Israel, advocate for themselves and important causes, and use their knowledge and skills to enrich the world. Our children gain more than academic strength, they gain the strength of identity. Our families gain a strong and vibrant community that shares a commitment to academic excellence and Jewish life.

At Schechter, we ignite our students' Jewish souls, educate them to their highest potential, and empower them to use their knowledge, skills, and creativity to enrich our world.
