Calvary Day School is a community of learners and leaders, where teaching and learning are stimulating, interesting and Christ centered. CDS is Accredited with Quality by the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC), SACS AdvancED with global accreditation, and the Georgia Independent School Association.
The heart of the lower school is obvious: to cherish each child and provide them with the educational and spiritual platforms to soar. This transformation can only occur through a rigorous curriculum that reinforces critical thinking, that has relevant standards driven by student inquiry and discovery, and that is supported by an expert team of faculty and staff.
CDS boasts a strong partnership between home and school encouraging parent participation. Effective communication has led CDS to better success and achievement for all our students.
Our lower school classrooms are permeated with excellence. Calvary is proud to incorporate smartboards, computers, tablets and Chromebooks into teaching toolkits. Not only do students have the latest in 1:1 technology, but technology is effectively utilized by enthusiastic teachers to create lifelong learners.
All students are given weekly instruction in physical education, art, music, Mandarin, library and Bible by certified specialists. The excitement of learning is evident in Calvary's classrooms as students creativity flourishes through abundant hands-on activities. Learning through these experiences emphasizes concentration and teamwork. Following Christ's example in Luke 2:52 is the cornerstone at Calvary: focusing on physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social growth. Calvary's staff is wholly committed to providing the best Christian education in the greater Savannah area.
