Point Vicente Elementary School - Rancho Palos Verdes, CA

Point Vicente: Every person counts!

Point Vicente: Every person counts!

We work together to maintain Point Vicente as a school where each person feels valued and validated. We orchestrate instructional and schoolwide approaches that build and nurture responsive, responsible citizenship because our students will be tomorrow's leaders. We have dedicated resources to focus on early literacy development which is integrated into our schoolwide RtI reading support. Point Vicente is a school where students, teachers, community, parents and staff contribute to a cohesive collaborative approach addressing the evolving needs of the students. An innovative, strategic model providing differentiated supports for math instruction is being implemented this year. We are committed to fostering a strong preparation for our students to be lifelong learners.

With the support of the district Education Foundation, our school district, and parent volunteers, we are providing curriculum and enrichment programs that include a formal STEM program (grades 4 and 5); Hands On Science activities and informal STEM activities integrated into Science instruction in all grades; schoolwide PE instruction provided by a credentialed PE teacher supported by an aide; music instruction (instrumental and vocal) provided for every student, and art instruction. Our school and district support the integration of instructional approaches that meet the diverse learning needs of students including Cognitively Guided Instruction and Daily 5. We are certain these approaches help our students reach and exceed high standards.
