Distinguished by a commitment to educating the whole child, St. Mark Catholic School recognizes the dignity and uniqueness of each child and provides strong academics, faith and morals, and a sense of community. Students also benefit from frequent access to technology, art, music, P.E., library skills, and Spanish. Core subjects include advanced math in middle school and resource for students with special needs. Children with more significant disabilities may receive a Catholic education through our Evangelist Program, while other students learn tolerance, compassion, and respect for the dignity of all human life.
Cross-curricular activities provide for yearlong study: 2nd grade, First Penance and Communion; 3rd grade, the States; 4th grade, Colonial Days; 5th Grade, World Geography; 6th Grade, Ancient Civilizations; 7th Grade, Science Fair; 8th Grade, Confirmation. Students prepare for and participate in weekly Mass, Virtue of the Month Fellowship Assemblies, "Manners Matter," and service projects. With the lion as our mascot, students learn courage and loyalty.
Faculty and staff are well-trained and highly dedicated. Camaraderie and collegiality among the faculty is enhanced through participation in two annual retreats and daily group prayer. The Parish Teacher Parent Organization (PTPO) works with the administration, teachers, and the entire staff for a cohesive community. Volunteers assist with everything from lunchroom to field trips to tutoring. Recognizing parents as the primary educators, we partner with parents to provide a strong foundation. Rooted in faith, knowledge, and service, we send St. Mark Catholic School graduates on their journey to share the light of Christ.
