Nestled in the heart of the Wasatch mountains, our school embraces a culture of respect, responsibility, and service. These attributes are embedded in the Wasatch Elementary school mission statement. Wasatch ensures that our students learn and succeed in a safe environment; equips students with basic skills in math, literacy, and reasoning; and fosters participation in and appreciation for the arts and sciences.
Wasatch Elementary is unique in that it offers two streams of education: Chinese Dual Language Immersion and Traditional English. Both are wonderful programs; however, housing two different programs in the same school leads to unique challenges. We work hard to develop a strong sense of unity throughout the entire school by involving the community, showcasing elements of each stream, and collaborating within grade level teams that span both programs.
Wasatch is located near two prestigious universities that play invaluable roles in expanding our vision and opportunities. We are proud of the collaborative mentor, volunteer, and professional development programs offered to students, staff, and the greater community.
We are also known for our long-standing tradition of emphasizing the arts, foreign languages, technology, and physical education. Our students participate in creative dance classes through integrated curriculum, and can choose to participate in choirs, band, enrichment clubs, annual track meets, and art shows. We believe these enrichment programs allow students to develop motor skills, problem solving, critical thinking, effective communication, compassion, aesthetic awareness, collaboration, responsible citizenship, and career readiness.
We love Wasatch! It truly is the “Best School in the Land!”
