Crawford Elementary School works hard, plays hard and builds character.

Crawford Elementary School works hard, plays hard and builds character.

Crawford Elementary is in the heart of Texas about one hundred miles south of Dallas and one hundred miles north of Austin near the famous I-35 corridor. The small, rural town is revered as the ranch of former President George W Bush. This honor has afforded its students many advantages and opportunities provided to only a few schools. Crawford Elementary is built on a long-standing tradition of pride and community. This strong sense of pride binds the parents and community to support its school and nurture its students. In addition to strong parental and community involvement, the school’s character and foundation of academic success comes from the dedication, experience, and commitment of its faculty and staff. Each and every student is challenged with high expectations and goals, as well as helped to gain academic success. Crawford Elementary believes in a proactive approach to ensuring student improvement while reaching high academic standards and preventing achievement gaps. A response-to-intervention program was locally developed and is a successful thirty-minute small group instruction time. With this special instructional time, all students can now claim mastery of the essential foundational elements of reading and math. Throughout the learning process, technology is used to support learning and prepare for a world outside the classroom. Assessment data is used to target student needs, drive instruction, and foster accomplishment. All students gains pride in their work and in their school. In summary, at Crawford Elementary, all students work hard, play hard, and build character each and every day.
