Carnegie Elementary School - Carnegie, OK

Students in Mrs. Pettit

Students in Mrs. Pettit's class are actively engaged in fun learning activities and take great pride in their school!

Carnegie Elementary is a rural school in southwestern Oklahoma. The first one-room school was built in 1903 with a mere 18 students. Today, our school has 301 students in a very modern building that includes prekindergarten to 5th grades. We are very fortunate to live in a supportive community that is determined to continue our legacy.

Carnegie Elementary School (CES) is the heart of our community. We are proud to have many staff members who are graduates of Carnegie Schools, and traditions and high academic expectations are reasons why many graduates choose to return with their families. We are blessed with strong community and parental support. CES has a diverse population with the biggest populations being Native American and Caucasian. Our students are educated on the history and customs of Native Americans. The Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma is headquartered in Carnegie and has been a great asset to our school.

CES has always taken pride in providing students with the best quality education preparing them for successful lives. One of our greatest assets is the dedication of staff members. Our 21 highly qualified teachers have a wide range of expertise and experience. The support staff takes great pride in CES and is very dedicated also. The entire staff is loyal and hard working towards our ultimate goal: student success. CES is committed to the academic achievements of each student as well as their social, physical, spiritual, and emotional growth. At Carnegie Elementary we believe excellence is never an accident.
