Wyoming Middle School is a 5-8 campus nestled in a 2.8 mile-wide community located outside of Cincinnati, OH. The community is home to more than 8,000 people who strongly support Wyoming City Schools. The Wyoming parent community spends countless hours and thousands of dollars contributing to studentsí learning experiences. Additionally, the school partners with the Wyoming School Foundation and Wyoming Youth Services to enhance learning spaces and provide additional services for students.
The building was originally dedicated in 1928 and was home to students in grades K-12 before becoming Wyoming High School, then Wyoming Middle School. In 2014-15, Wyoming completed a $25 million renovation thanks to the support of resident taxpayers in a 2012 bond levy. The project allowed Wyoming Middle School to maintain traditional historic elements while building a 21st century learning environment. With the support of our community members, we renovated and built 120,000 square feet and added enhanced learning spaces, including The Woodside FAB L.A.B., The Lin Family Lobby, The Yearout Professional Development Room, a full-size gymnasium, the Ronald H. Fegelman M.D. Wellness Center, art gallery, learning commons, new 1,000 square-foot performing arts rooms, the Moore Music Room, outdoor learning courtyards, and four extended learning areas. Students and staff utilize technology elements, such as collaboration stations, and extend their learning options to soft-seated areas with dry erase walls and projectors. The design of the building was heavily influenced by the district STEAM curriculum initiative, which encourages interdisciplinary hands-on learning, design thinking, and 21st century soft skills.
