The staff and community work together in making our vision a reality every day, inspiring and preparing our students to reach their fullest potential in a diverse and dynamic world. Our vision is a driving force for all the work we do, inspiring all students to be confident, creative 21st century problem-solvers, as well as empathetic, respecting, and responsible members of society. Every staff member commits to working together, living out the vision, as we interact with the students, families, community members, and each other. The teachers at McMullen are committed to the educational success of every student. The staff uses research-based curriculum, high-yield instructional strategies, and technology-embedded instruction. Teachers use formative instructional practices as a framework to develop and implement inquiry-based, cross-curricular units of study emphasizing critical thinking and problem solving opportunities in collaborative settings rich in communication. Teacher teams meet regularly, using student data, to address at-risk and enrichment needs to achieve success. Each morning staff and students pledge their commitment to the vision with an inspiring chant. Dedication to the vision and the collected efforts of staff, students, parents, and the community have resulted in being recognized by the Ohio Department of Education as a 2014 High Performing School and a sixth year School of Promise.
