TALES is an early childhood school committed to nurturing young minds in a warm, safe, and welcoming environment. Our dedicated staff work hard to ensure that all of our families feel welcome and safe, and students are ready to learn. We partner with Thinking Maps and Math in the City to enhance our academic curriculum, tailor it to meet individual needs, and best serve our high ELL population by focusing on developing language through both social and academic experiences. As a part of this work, we believe play is an essential part of early childhood development and we incorporate play and hands-on activities into our curriculum. We prepare young minds to tackle the challenges of tomorrow by providing a progressive and rigorous academic experience, tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
We also believe that there is a close relationship between health & nutrition and academics. TALES puts significant emphasis on wellness through our partnerships with Fitness and Nutrition for Kids (FAN4Kids) and The Coalition for Healthy School Foods. In addition to our work with these partners, TALES became the first public school in the country to adopt an all-vegetarian lunch menu in 2012. It is our belief that the as a result of all of these things together that students graduate from TALES with the tools necessary to lead healthy and productive lives.
