Southern Boulevard School is an exceptional community school in every sense. The SBS community, comprising dynamic educators and supportive parents, shares the common goals of actively pursuing engaging and authentic learning experiences for our children. Our talented staff is supported by District administrators and a Board of Education that persistently strives for excellence. Our parent community is skilled, resourceful, and passionate about enriching and enhancing our mission in every way. The school climate is vibrant, spirited and proud.

In addition to achieving academic excellence, we remain dedicated to educating the Whole Child. We believe in the importance of teaching our children to be physically, socially and emotionally healthy community members. For example, in November of 2014, Southern Boulevard School partnered with the New York Yankees to bring the principles of HOPE Week to our school. HOPE Week (Helping Others Persevere and Excel) was created by the Yankees in 2009 to encourage acts of goodwill that will not only benefit the recipients, but inspire all communities to help others. The SBS community performed grade-level appropriate service activities to benefit local area food banks, baby care centers, children’s hospitals and other organizations that support children and families in need. We learned invaluable lessons rooted in philanthropy. On August 19th, we were invited to Yankee Stadium as HOPE Week Honorees, where we partnered with Yankee players and coaches in collecting school supplies for a local Bronx School.

We are proud to be 2015 National Blue Ribbon Award recipients!
