HW Mountz Buddy Planting Activity
Since its inception in 1897, HW Mountz, the sole public school in Spring Lake, NJ, has journeyed toward its commitment to expanding what is possible, combining the best of the traditional and the contemporary.
At Mountz, students enjoy a safe, positive learning environment through our morning meetings, anti-bullying and conflict resolution programs, character-building service learning projects and buddy activities, offering students varied opportunities for learning about trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship in their truest context.
Instructional delivery at Mountz includes a strong focus on STEAM plus a comprehensive math and language arts program grounded in solid fundamentals. Our far-reaching curriculum focuses on the critical proficiencies outlined by the Common Core. Seamless integration of technology into all we do--from our fully equipped news studio to our one-to-one Chromebook initiative and beyond--helps prepare our learners for their places in the 21st century. Building on the equity of the past while leveraging the advantages of the present empowers Mountz to focus on each individual student’s future.
The engagement of our parents, community, PTA, Spring Lake Educational Foundation, and the the Booster Club provide support to our young learners through their active involvement and contribute to diverse extracurricular activities.
At its core, Mountz leverages the positive equity and values that have made our school what it is to date, while aggressively pursuing excellence through the most progressive approaches modern academia has to offer. The Mountz “recipe” empowers our children to realize their full potential before taking their places in the world.
