Faith, knowledge and character are the cornerstones of Holy Cross School. Within a faith centered environment focusing on Christ's teachings, Holy Cross provides a strong academic program and helps each student be the best person he or she can be.
Parent surveys consistently rank “a family atmosphere” as one of the most unique and important features of the school. The principal encourages open communication and models respect, kindness and honesty to all. The Pastor and Parish Staff work closely with school personnel to provide a strong connection to church life. Teachers and staff collaborate as a team to ensure students receive the knowledge, skills and encouragement they need. Through a strong School Board and Parent Teacher Association, parents are partners who provide a variety of resources to support the school program.
One notable area for Holy Cross over the past three years has been the integration of technology into the school program. As a private school, this was made possible through the direct financial support of the PTA and annual "Grandparents' Fund." Today there are interactive whiteboards or projection units in every classroom plus a computer each child uses in all classes for Grades 5–8. This year, mathematics and science are each using a program of digital “techbook” instruction in the middle school. The intentional, gradual approach to the introduction of technology has served to unite the school and inspire the teachers to foster their own learning environment.
