Washington Elementary comprises approximately 250 students in grades 4 - 6. It is located in Valley City, ND, a community of 6,500 residents, placed beautifully along the Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway. The Valley City Public Schools mission statement reads, "Together we are building a legacy of excellence, one student at a time." It is through this mission that Washington Elementary works diligently to provide students with a safe and respectful learning environment. We strive to create effective and successful learning opportunities for all students while realizing their varying individual needs. We work hand in hand with all stakeholders to promote excellence through a home, school, and community partnership. Our experienced, skilled, and talented staff consistently go above and beyond the call of duty to provide an excellent education full of exceptional and outstanding opportunities for our students. Through their work in established PLC's, teachers are able to gain a greater understanding of their students' strengths and weaknesses, while working collaboratively to not only address critical needs, but to provide enrichment opportunities as well. Great teamwork is evident and essential to the everyday operations at Washington Elementary. The hard work, willingness to help one another out, and the support provided to colleagues is visible every day in the building. Students understand they are held to high expectations academically, socially, and behaviorally and always strive to meet those expectations. Washington Elementary School will continue to be a wonderful place to work and learn.
