Our Adaptive PE buddies and friends work and learn together

At Beverly Woods, our mission is to provide students with a strong academic and character-based foundation which will instill a desire to explore, lead, and serve in a global society. Our entire philosophy is grounded in celebrating the individual child. We received both the State and the National School of Character Award. We have hosted visitors from around the world who come to experience our inclusive practices in action. From the time our students enter, in Kindergarten, they are immersed in an atmosphere of respect and acceptance.

Academically, our school has met all growth goals and AMO targets for all subgroups and have been successful at significantly decreasing our achievement gaps. We have led the district in piloting numerous initiatives such as: Bring Your Own Technology(BYOT), Opportunity Culture, the Gates MET study, MAP diagnostic testing, Response to Instruction, and were a model school for balanced literacy instruction. We have taken ideas from each pilot study in which we have been involved to create a curriculum which supports the specific needs of all students at our school.

As a Professional Learning Community we strive to keep improving our practices. Our staff is skilled in the use of data to drive instructional planning and differentiation for students based on individual levels of need. We value a relationship-oriented philosophy where we trust and respect one another. Members of our staff are encouraged to take risks and be innovative while utilizing data to closely track new initiatives and share successes with colleagues.
