When you walk into Monroe Elementary School, we want you to feel at home. From our welcoming office staff to friendly, supportive teachers and staff, we want all that enter our building to feel the Monroe family experience.

We provide education for approximately 500 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Remembering our district's mission of “assuring learning excellence and readiness for a changing world,” we use positive behavior strategies, collaboration, and high expectations of behavior and learning to promote success and create lifelong learners.

Our purpose is to guide students to reach their goals by making strong connections with families and promoting a challenging, yet supportive learning environment. Teachers who believe that all students can and will learn, strong curricula, and data for sound instructional decisions contribute to our academic success. In 2011, 2013, and 2014, we earned the honor of being a Minnesota Reward school. Reward schools are the top 15% of Title I schools in the state.

Families are the most important part of our school. We see our staff, students, and community as part of the Monroe Family. When we operate this way, it leads to great things. We collaborate, support, and rely on each other. We want what is best for all students. We believe all students will learn at high levels and provide the support needed for teachers to meet each student’s needs.
