Mahtomedi High School educates approximately 1,200 students in grades 9 through 12 with 248 students graduating in the MHS Class of 2015. MHS is one of four schools in the Mahtomedi School District, located in the northeast Twin Cities (MN) metro area.
MHS consistently ranks near the top of Minnesota rankings. In both 2014 and 2015, the school district ranked #1 in all three areas (reading, math, and science) assessed by the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments. The school's curriculum provides a wide range of courses for students who require additional support to those who need to be challenged via honors courses, Advanced Placement (AP) opportunities, and College in the Schools (CIS). Innovative, supportive staff ensures MHS students receive the individual attention they need as they work to achieve their academic goals.
MHS is home to FABLAB Mahtomedi, the world's first K-12 engineering fabrication laboratory. The FABLAB houses a stunning array of state-of-the-art design and engineering equipment, including 3D printers and laser cutters. Working in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, FABLAB Mahtomedi is proud to serve as a model for other K-12 fabrication laboratories across the nation and worldwide.
After school, more than 85% of MHS students participate in at least one sport or activity with a large number of choices and opportunities. From football and lacrosse to theater, robotics, and debate, MHS staff strongly encourages student participation and are enthusiastic advisors to many of the groups.
