Benjamin Franklin High School is a public charter school in New Orleans, Louisiana. Educating the best and brightest of New Orleans since 1957, Franklin has earned the title of the top school in Louisiana. Ben Franklin celebrates unity in diversity and encourages academic excellence. We offer the most Advanced Placement courses in the state with twenty three different options available and ninety one percent of our graduates qualify for college credit through this program. Ben Franklin students also excel in the arts and athletics with twenty highly competitive sports teams and over sixty extracurricular clubs to allow students to explore, discover, and learn leadership skills.
The 2015 graduating class produced 24 National Merit Semifinalists, 10 National Achievement Scholars, 5 national Commended Scholars, 2 National Achievement Outstanding Participants, and 1 National Hispanic Scholar. This Franklin class also boasted an average ACT composite score of 27.3 and three perfect scores, two national science awards, and the state championship for girls’ soccer.
Franklin has been named one of the most challenging schools in the U.S., the #1 Advanced Placement school in Louisiana, the state's top STEM school, and one of the nation’s top schools by the U.S. News and World Report.
