W.B. Simpson has established a tradition of excellence within the Caesar Rodney School District. As stated in our school motto, “W. B. Simpson is committed to providing a positive school experience that ensures all students excel academically, socially, and emotionally by building relationships that prepare students for success”. Here at W.B. Simpson, our core values and beliefs about education ensure that our students and families feel successful, welcome, and love coming to school each and every day. At Simpson, we strive for rigorous instruction in every classroom, every day, for every child. Our teachers loop with our students to ensure that for two years there is someone there that truly knows the children both academically and personally. Building relationships is key to our success with struggling students. We also use a Responsive Classroom approach to proactively teach and model effective social skills and problem-solving practices. In our classroom, students are provided opportunities for differentiated instruction in various settings throughout the day. Students receive more time to work with their teachers in small groups, work collaboratively with peers, and make academic choices regarding activities throughout the day. In recent years, our population has grown through our commitment to the Chinese Immersion Program, a unique learning environment that allows students to learn academic content in a second language, in addition to English. Most importantly, W.B. Simpson has a long standing tradition of celebrating student successes both academically and socially throughout the year through positive reinforcement.
