Kyrene Traditional Academy Sureno Campus - Chandler, AZ

Kyrene Traditional Academy students are proud of their school motto!
Kyrene Traditional Academy-Sureño Campus (KTA) is the only Traditional Model School in the Kyrene District, located in Chandler, AZ serving over 550 students in grades K-5. We transitioned to a ‘traditional model’ just four years ago and in that time, KTA has become well-known for innovative and rigorous academics, enriching after-school opportunities, and amazing parent and community support. We are proud to be recognized as an A+ School of Excellence from the Arizona Educational Foundation. Our vision statement encapsulates our focus on excellence: KTA students utilize fundamental and higher level thinking skills to achieve academic success. Students are respectful, self-disciplined, conscientious, and motivated members of society. Innovative programs for students achieving at higher levels include Integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) which engage students in project-based learning and departmentalized groupings in language arts and mathematics in intermediate grades allow students to work at one or even two grade levels ahead. School climate at KTA is supportive and nurturing and our parent participation and volunteerism are significant factors to success. Citizens, Scholars, and Friends - this is our motto! Students recite this as part of our daily KTA Pledge and live it across our hallways. Our administrators provide leadership that puts children and families first while diverse community partnerships add to the fabric of our school. Our KTA family and community work hard to ensure that exceptional opportunities are available for every student. Our teachers and staff are dedicated to make that happen! KTA is an amazing place!
