English Language Arts students explore the life of Frederick Douglass.

English Language Arts students explore the life of Frederick Douglass.

Madison Meadows Middle School is a special place to learn. Located in the beautiful Central Phoenix Corridor, 800-plus fifth through eighth grade students attend school from both the surrounding neighborhoods and various locations throughout the Valley. More than 50% of students attend the school via open enrollment, so Meadows is definitely a school of choice!

Meadows offers students a well-rounded education which includes all core subjects: English language arts, math, science, and social studies; as well as Spanish, Digital Design, physical education, and the Arts. Honors English, math, and science classes are available to qualifying students. Two self-contained programs are provided to best support the needs of students with emotional or multiple disabilities. Technology is fully integrated and accessible to all.

Though Meadows has faced funding hardships, the focus remains the same: student growth. Maintaining this growth is imperative, and one instrumental practice is Guided Study. Meadows’ schedule affords a 40 minute GS period daily to implement remediation and/or enrichment based on student data. GS is fluid and consists of four to six week rotations with a particular area of focus; for example, decoding informational text, numbers & operations, or even a novel study. Growth is measured through pre and post assessment.

Rated an “A” school by Arizona for the last two years, Meadows is also AdvancEd accredited and a recently authorized International Baccalaureate World School. Parents and community members offer unfailing support through volunteering and fundraising. In partnership with them, Meadows is able to provide Extraordinary Learning for All!
