The Montessori focus and classroom environments at Drachman create an educational model where academic presentations are given with a "big picture" approach. For students, who are approaching, or newly reaching, complex thinking and logical skills, this teaching style allows information to fit easily into the students’ understanding.

Our vision statement, "Drachman Montessori's community nurtures the whole child. Together we guide and empower one another toward individual excellence. As responsible and peaceful citizens of the world, we honor our cosmic task," explains the daily operations of Drachman Montessori Magnet School. Teachers, staff, and community members are guided by Dr. Montessori’s belief that in order for students to reach their fullest potential, the “whole child” must be nurtured.

Drachman Montessori Magnet School’s teachers and staff honor each students’ interest by designing specialized lessons, differentiating instruction and allowing the students choice throughout their day. Students’ choices are guided by responsible direction built on a foundation of trust, established by a community of teachers, staff, and community members fulfilling their own “cosmic task,” to teach our students peace, responsibility and of course, academics.
At Drachman Montessori Magnet, all children participate in music, Spanish, physical education and ecological activities such as composting, caring for chickens, gardening, and maintaining our Aquaponics system, as part of their school day. Drachman Montessori Magnet students are trusted, supported, and allowed to become readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, artists, and advocates for individual health, intercultural collaboration, and peace.
