Mason Elementary is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Mason, Texas. Without a single stoplight, Mason embodies a true small-town atmosphere while being a cohesive and supportive rural community.
Mason ISD is comprised of three campuses centrally located creating an exceptional culture of pride and tradition. A strong sense of community is a valuable asset, and almost any day someone from the community participates in some facet of volunteering. It is common to see purple-clad students supporting their Punchers (cowpuncher mascot) at weekly pep rallies organized to instill a sense of school pride. Puncher pride begins each morning as students serve as greeters, lead pledges, and recite mission statements.
Mason Elementary embodies a proactive approach ensuring student success while striving to reach high academic standards and to close the achievement gap. A local Response-to-Intervention program, "Primetime," was developed and became a successful thirty-minute small group instruction time. Lessons use assessment data to target students needing extra academic assistance or accelerated learning. Mason Elementary became a Leader in "Me School" utilizing Covey’s "7 Habits of Highly Effective People." The 7 Habits program was implemented throughout the core curriculum and encourages all students to create positive habits linking education to character and leadership skills. A 1:1 technology environment has contributed to student success in all academic areas.
We believe every student’s education goes beyond their time at Mason Elementary, and 21st Century skills obtained at school will assist them in leaving their mark on the world.
