Science in action at Fields Store Elementary School!

Science in action at Fields Store Elementary School!

Fields Store Elementary School is a rural community school with a history of excellence and achievement since its opening in 2002. Campus traditions provide opportunities for students, their families, and the community to build connections. Student recognition, cultural celebrations, and a variety of family events develop the culture of the campus. The campus, with more than 55% of students from disadvantaged backgrounds, celebrates success in an environment where school pride is strong!

As an open-door campus, Fields Store Elementary School sends and receives teachers in partnership with other campuses and districts. The school's faculty learns and grows through sharing lessons learned in these academic partnerships. A focus on technology integration includes innovative ideas such as flipped classroom practices, project-based learning, and cooperative learning experiences via Skype. These practices support the effective delivery of curriculum, as it is continually adjusted based on data analysis to meet the needs of changing demographics and individual learners.

Most notably at Fields Store Elementary School, students are surrounded by science. The inquiry-based, hands-on activities challenge students to wonder, think critically, and be responsible for their own learning. Community partnerships support projects such as bucket gardening, landscaping, and a variety of unique experiences of discovery learning. Science surrounds students at Fields Store Elementary School!
