Hillsboro Elementary-Middle School is a K-8 public school located thirty minutes south of Nashville in the historic, picturesque town of Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee.

Five years ago, plummeting test scores sparked a turn-around effort at this rural Title One school. Since then, school administration, teachers, parents, community partners, and district leadership have created a new school culture focused on the individual success of each student. A finely-honed master schedule, leveled classes, bell-to-bell instruction, after-school tutoring, and focused professional development create a rigorous educational environment that maximizes student learning and capitalizes on the unique qualities of this exceptional school.

Hillsboro School strives to develop the whole child. Extensive related arts course offerings are considered core curriculum, and Hillsboro athletic teams compete countywide in eleven sports. Hillsboro’s small size allows a larger percentage of students to participate in these activities and offers the undivided attention of caring teachers and coaches.

For the past two years, Hillsboro Elementary-Middle School has been recognized as a Tennessee Reward School, representing the top 5% of schools in Tennessee for both Performance and Growth. Hillsboro has also been named a finalist for the 2014 Tennessee SCORE Prize (State Collaborative on Reforming Education). Hillsboro students and teachers enjoy celebrating growth and achievement each day, making life at Hillsboro rewarding for all.

With top-notch educators, strong parent and community support, and a relentless drive for educational excellence, Hillsboro School is a place where nine grade levels of students and teachers experience success together.
