Within minutes of walking through the doors of Foothills Elementary, you will notice something special about this school. While many of the school's successes can be measured through data analysis, accolades, and awards, the school culture can only be captured through personal engagement, observing excellence in instruction, and breathing in the atmosphere of happiness, safety, and security. The school operates as a family unit focusing on cooperation, acceptance, and the absolute joy of learning and working together.
With purpose and intent, the school embraces excellence through powerful and engaging learning experiences, meaningful collaboration, and respect for diversity in a caring, positive environment. Teachers attend to academic excellence with integration of best practices, precision teaching, and data analysis. The school expects student performance data to capture high levels of achievement and growth for all students. In spite of its success, the school rejects complacency and embraces forward thinking.
This year, the school is implementing iReach, a digital conversion model. Teachers are working in Professional Learning Communities to build lessons focused on rigorous learning outcomes where students make choices and take ownership for their learning. Students are engaging in digital research and composition, completing projects, and following a personalized learning path to limitless learning. The school's most significant resource is its dedicated teaching staff and their focus on providing the best of instruction through blended learning. The school's focus is captured each morning as you can hear a chorus of voices collectively recite the school motto, "Personal Best, Nothing Less."
