West View Elementary School (WVES) is nestled in the center of its attendance area with all neighborhoods located within 1.5 miles of the school. The needs and backgrounds of our school community are considerably diverse. The school celebrates this diversity and works hard to provide all students with the education they need to be successful in their elementary years and beyond.
Parents play a strong role in the day-to-day life of the school by volunteering in the classroom, chaperoning field trips, participating in committees, and tutoring. Teachers and parents work hand-in-hand to enrich the daily lives of our students. This rapport is a building block for which all else stands, and because of it, the school is able to provide programs and opportunities to meet the needs of all students.
Through thorough examination of standards, assessments, and surveys, the staff is able to ensure that students achieve at the highest levels possible and are prepared for college and career readiness. Remediation and enrichment opportunities are offered before, during, and after school. This is one example of how WVES has created a reputation for expecting the best in all aspects of school life. This message is relayed daily with the school pledge and it fosters the development of respectful and responsible learners, and continues to be the cornerstone of our ongoing success. WVES offers an environment for students to be personally empowered, to become competitive and successful learners through the use of project-based learning activities and innovative teaching strategies, and to give nothing less than their personal best.
