The mission of Barrington Middle School (BMS) is to empower all students to excel! BMS is grounded in the tenets of a Professional Learning Community. All members are committed to meeting students where they are while implementing and supporting a rigorous curriculum, the most effective teaching strategies, and the most effective differentiated instruction techniques to ensure academic, social, and emotional growth for all students.

These beliefs are rooted in providing all members of the learning community with what we hold as the five pillars of a successful middle school: a safe and supportive learning environment; a strong home/school partnership; a transparent data culture; a comprehensive Response to Intervention and Positive Culture program; and a strong middle school model which includes individual teaching teams, common planning time, school wide intervention/enrichment block, and robust curriculum areas.

In addition to this foundation, BMS’s faculty and staff are tirelessly devoted to their craft and their students. It is clear that BMS"s accomplishments are connected to the efforts of all its members, from the members of our learning community who care for our building, undertake administrative details, ensure students are nourished, monitor their physical and emotional well-being, assist educators, impart knowledge and inspire critical thinking skills, and finally, to those who lead and facilitate best practice within all components of this institution. Along with involved and cooperative parents and adolescents who arrive at school excited and ready to learn, BMS is more than a community, it is a family.
