Nitrauer

Nitrauer's Back to School Ice Cream Social--Record Turn-out!

At Nitrauer, everyone works hard to achieve the school's vision of all students learning, growing, and positively contributing to the school community. Nitrauer is more than just high yearly test scores; it is a true school community.

Nitrauer maintains a strong sense of school community, which can be attributed, in part, to its school-wide positive behavior plan. Many students each week are recognized for supporting others, being kind, and helping without being asked. This spirit of good will permeates the building and is often noticed by visitors or newcomers. Unsolicited positive comments are frequently heard, such as "The students and staff here are very helpful and sweet. The children are extremely polite."

Nitrauer also maintains a strong connection with parents. It hosts many events inviting parents into the school. The building is busy with volunteers helping students in classrooms, assisting the office, and coordinating school events. Recently, the school held its annual Back to School Ice Cream Social. A local business donated the ice cream and paper products for the event, and served the ice cream on the school's playground. More than 1,000 cups of ice cream were given away, marking a record turn-out and clear demonstration of how involved and interested the families are in their students' school lives.

Nitrauer strives to continue to be a unique place where there are high expectations for all students in all areas and where maintaining a strong school community is a priority.
