Franklin Towne goes well beyond the traditional definition of a school; it is a home to all of its students. Its vision is that graduates will be aware of the opportunities that are available to them once they graduate, be prepared academically to enter any major field of study they choose in college, and be equipped socially to deal with the demands of post-secondary study while being leaders in their respective spheres of influence. It achieves this vision by providing comprehensive course offerings from life skills to honors classes, and AP to entrepreneurial and vocational training.
Franklin Towne believes that its greatest strength is the students. It utilizes a collaborative team-based approach that involves teachers, students, parents, and community members to drive its day-to-day and long term goals. It is of the belief that, by focusing all its decision on "what is best for the students," it will continue to improve.
By coupling research-based instructional practices with both an adaptive curricular approach and an innovative technological mind-set, Towne has developed a reputation of excellence and has demonstrated its institutional success by achieving AYP for 8 consecutive years. However, it is not a lazy school and will not rest on past successes. At Towne, everyone believes that by focusing on critical thinking skills and offering authentic opportunities for students to demonstrate daily learning, it will continue to be a school that everyone is proud to be a part of.
