Mount Saint Joseph Academy

Mount Saint Joseph Academy

Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph (SSJ), Mount St. Joseph Academy is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school for girls. Premised on the tenant that "On the education of women largely depends the future of Society," the Mount has been preparing young women for the challenges of college and life since 1858.

Each student experiences an educational journey that prepares her for future challenges and opportunities. Standardized assessments continuously validate the success of the Mount’s academic program. SAT results have consistently placed Mount students in the top 15 percent of the nation for over the last five years. The class of 2014 had 2 students who scored perfect scores on the SAT, 9 National Merit Semi-finalists and 18 Commended Students.

Mount students also excel beyond the classroom. The arts and athletic programs are outstanding with too many awards and championships to list; and the Community Service Corps embodies the charism of the SSJ’s concern for "the dear neighbor" by reaching out to society’s marginalized citizens both locally and globally.

Mount students are challenged to shape the future in a collaborative culture that provides a holistic education with an emphasis on global responsibility. Faithful to "Educating Founders," the Mount enables students to be agents of transformation in the face of moral and ethical challenges in an ever-evolving society.
