The Queens College School for Math, Science, and Technology, a Prek-8 blind lottery school, serves an ethnically and economically diverse population from the seven Queens districts. A rigorous curriculum based on the Common Core Learning Standards, quality teaching, and a nurturing learning environment support high student achievement. Character development and good citizenship is integrated into all areas of school life.

All members of the pedagogical staff work collaboratively to identify student strengths and needs, plan instructional goals, and implement research-based academic programs utilizing data collected from a variety of assessments and observations. The curriculum is enriched and differentiated enabling children to problem solve, think critically, and develop strong student discourse. Reading and writing instruction is delivered using the workshop model enabling teachers to guide students to practice independently. In addition to rigorous inquiry-based math and science learning, there is a strong emphasis on the arts, physical education, and technology.

To support these efforts, the school administration continuously provides and participates in differentiated professional development for all staff members to ensure that they keep abreast of the most current pedagogical methodologies. The school's partnership with Queens College supports the refinement of teaching practices leading to continued student achievement.

The achievements of Queens College School are accomplished through the dedication and collaborative partnership of the administration, staff, and parents as denoted in the school motto, "If it is to be it is up to us to do it."
