NBRS Badge for Concord Elementary School

Concord Elementary School - St. Louis, MO

Guided reading, using a differentiated, small group approach, has been the root of Concord

Guided reading, using a differentiated, small group approach, has been the root of Concord's success in language arts.

Concord Elementary School is a historic part of Lindbergh Schools, originally opening in 1844 as a one-room log cabin school. Today’s modern Concord Elementary family prides itself on a rich tradition of excellence, a strong sense of community and a commitment to high-quality education. Concord is a growing school that comprises more than 600 students in grades K-5. As the home of students representing over 20 languages and Lindbergh’s elementary Program for Exceptionally Gifted Students (PEGS), Concord is fortunate to have a diverse community of learners.

As part of the top achieving K-12 district in Missouri, Concord prides itself on a reputation of high student achievement, powerful teacher collaboration, and focused professional development. Intervention services and consistent practices in data-driven differentiation allow students to excel.

The school’s highly qualified teachers are the root of its success. They spend time each week in professional learning communities setting goals, analyzing student growth, and collaborating on ways to meet the individual needs of students. Using student data to plan highly effective lessons and provide individualized instruction has led to some of the highest achievement levels in the state.

Family involvement and community relationships make Concord a special place to learn. Through classroom learning celebrations, special family events, and service-learning, our Concord families play a vital role in the development of the whole child.
