Kinder students continue to work together to improve reading skills.

Kinder students continue to work together to improve reading skills.

Lakeshore Elementary School is one of nine elementary schools in West Ottawa Public Schools. The building proudly represents three sections of K-5 at each grade level, one of these sections being a Spanish Immersion section, as well as a Preschool program and a daycare program to serve the needs of our families.

The dedicated staff, students, and families of Lakeshore are what make this such a wonderful nurturing environment for all children who are the focus for all staff members at Lakeshore Elementary. Staff collaborate within the building and with the eight other elementary buildings to offer the absolute best lessons in education and life for the students. Classroom teachers are the "central hub" for all students, yet all students have many more adult staff members making positive relationships on a daily basis. True and honest relationships help to grow the needs of all students in our building.

Staff members continue to use data that has been collected from assessments. Knowing the data of each individual student will help the instructors make informed decisions when planning their lessons both long term as well as short term.

Working collaboratively with families, the PTO and other local organizations, continue to be a major strength for Lakeshore. Local support is evidenced by the 100+ name badges of our regular volunteers displayed in our main office. Lakeshore is simply a community success.
