Julia Bancroft School

Julia Bancroft School

Julia Bancroft is an active learning community located in the small suburb of Auburn in Central Massachusetts. It opened its doors for the first time to the children of Auburn in September of 1926 and currently serves approximately 300 third through fifth grade students. Teachers, like their colleagues across the Auburn Public Schools, work tirelessly and are committed to creating a rigorous learning environment where students are valued, differences are celebrated, and parents are welcomed partners.

The Bancroft pledge, "I believe, I will achieve and I will succeed," truly encompasses the school’s beliefs about teaching and learning. This belief has been the school’s mantra in ensuring every student, especially those most in need, are surrounded by caring adults who are committed to doing whatever is necessary to guarantee they reach their highest potential.

Upon entering through the doors of Bancroft, it is evident the pride taken in the students and their achievements. 'Student of the Month’ recognizes students who exemplify the standards of the character education program. Many quotes conveying messages of excellence and perseverance furnish the front foyer. Throughout the school, students’ academic work is displayed proudly in hallways and classrooms recognizing their outstanding efforts and accomplishments.

Julia Bancroft’s academic success has been evidenced through the Massachusetts State assessment scores. The school has worked diligently to build a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and respect. The talents of our dedicated staff along with the support of the entire Auburn community, has made Julia Bancroft the amazing school that it is.
