Equipping Johnson students to be successful in the 21st Century

Johnson Elementary is a quaint, neighborhood school that began educating students in 1923 and has built a strong tradition of excellence which continues to this day. Many students are second and third generation "Johnson families" and the community takes great pride in the school, students, and our accomplishments. We are characterized by our strong commitment to excellence as well as our warm, positive, family environment. While we have traditionally been a high performing school, we have spent the past several years concentrating on improving instruction. This has increased the rigor in our classrooms and placed the focus on having students think critically to design, create, and perform. This increased focus helps us provide daily learning experiences that will give students the opportunity to research and solve problems; presenting their findings, writings, and ideas through presentations with the added intent of improving their public speaking and listening skills. We are equipping our students with the skills to be successful in the 21st Century.
Our parents play a huge role in the success at Johnson. They have high expectations for our school and push us to provide the best education possible for our students. They also understand that a quality education begins at home and they work hard with our staff to give their children the best possible opportunities to succeed. Together, we are growing tomorrow's leaders at Johnson Elementary!
