The St. Paul Catholic School community strives daily to help students grow spiritually, educationally, socially, physically, and emotionally by embracing the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ. St. Paul Catholic School recognizes each student as a unique individual with his or her own particular set of gifts, then differentiates instruction in order to help each flourish. The school sets high expectations for students and provides an environment that is both appropriately supportive and challenging in order to help them meet those expectations. The committed faculty and staff work before and after school to help students learn.
For over 125 years, the school's major challenge has been to manage the demographic and societal changes occurring. The Florence area has evolved: rural to suburban, immigrant to generational, young to mature. St. Paul Catholic School has grown from an elementary serving grades 1-6, to a grade school K-8. The school adapted to serve two parishes rather than one.
St. Paul Catholic School succeeds because fostering a student-centered learning environment is its primary concern. As the world changes, St. Paul Catholic School focuses on those it serves. Staff work in a highly collaborative environment developed over many years. Everyone has ownership of student success. Staff have a particularly strong sense of partnership with parents. They recognize parents as the primary educators of their children and welcome them throughout the school. Staff are very proud of the time, in excess of 15,000 hours, volunteers serve each year. St. Paul Catholic School is a vibrant learning community.
