Sprunica Elementary is a rural public school serving preschool through fourth grade children. The school is located in beautiful northern Brown County, Indiana. On any given day, students at Sprunica can be found working with snap circuits in the state-of-the-art STEM lab, curled up reading a favorite just-right book, observing the growth of pumpkins in the school’s pumpkin patch, competing in state-wide academic competitions, or writing a personal narrative about an exciting time in their life. The learning environment and community culture felt throughout the building is truly amazing. A variety of day and night events support family involvement at the school. The Parent-Teacher-Organization is a highly engaged group and creates many opportunities for members to participate.

During instruction, flexible grouping is used to help students perform at levels where they are comfortably challenged as learners. Sprunica Elementary takes great pride in a 92% or greater state assessment student pass rate and has been selected as an Indiana Four Star School. The faculty and staff strive each day to provide a safe, clean and positive atmosphere that supports student learning. They strive to pursue their personal best each day. Teachers design lessons to meet the needs of all children. They spend many hours incorporating multiple resources to teach challenging concepts in unique ways. Just the right amount of technology is integrated into every lesson. A portion of each day is also dedicated to working with students on strategies for becoming respectful and positive citizens of a collaborative learning community.
