Frank H. Hammond has earned Indiana Four Star School status for the last two years.

Frank H. Hammond Elementary is "Where the Tradition of Excellence Begins..." As young students begin their education in the School Town of Munster, this welcome greeting, along with the building Mission Statement, sets the tone of partnership and excellence that drives the Frank Hammond spirit. As an Indiana Four Star School, students, staff, and families take pride and ownership in the school's ongoing success. The school believes in a "whatever it takes" approach to finding the road to achievement for each individual student.
Teamwork and collaboration among all stakeholders is the key to success. Many programs and educational services are available to meet the needs of the diverse population of learners. The dedicated staff goes above and beyond to create an environment that encourages students to excel academically, physically, and emotionally. Active and involved parents share the school’s vision and mission in all of the activities they plan and all the programs they support and fund. And, of course, the students constantly amaze with their strong commitment to making good choices and achieving their personal best!
FHH has achieved "Exemplary Progress" and "A" ratings on Indiana’s State Report Card since 2009. Building-wide positive behavior strategies and school safety awareness are constantly implemented and reviewed because the school believes that a safe and positive environment provides the setting for students to do their best. Maintaining student success and making sure that every student shows continual growth is the ongoing focus of the School Improvement efforts.
