Saving Lives Through Parkview Hospital's Kids Safety Camp

Cedarville Elementary School has a tradition of academic excellence made possible through a unified commitment by students, families, educators, and the community toward accepting responsibilities in the learning process.

Instruction is provided by highly-qualified staff. A balanced literacy approach to reading instruction incorporates essential skill and strategy development. Teachers engage in job-embedded, data-driven, standards-based professional development to increase student learning. The academic program is support by an Instructional Coach and a Student Assistance Specialist.

Character development is fostered through the Character Counts and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) systems. Global awareness is fostered through interactions and visits between Cedarville and its "Sister School" in Zhejiang Province, P. R. China.

Parent and community involvement provide extended opportunities for students to learn and develop socially, as well as academically. he dynamic Parent/Teacher Organization organizes and sponsors fund-raising activities and volunteer opportunities, matching classroom needs with volunteer resources. Collaboration with community partners provides learning opportunities including Kids’ Safety Camp, After-school Science Program, Latch-Key Program, Fort Wayne Philharmonic Educational Series, After-school Dance Program, and Project-Based Learning Opportunities.
