Oak School is located in Hinsdale, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The 70 staff members of Oak School serve 350 students in preschool through fifth grade in a warm and caring environment. As a school community, staff, parents, and students work together to support the growth and learning of each individual child. The heart of Oak School is collaboration. The students truly benefit from a team of experts who discuss, create, and share best practices to meet students' needs. Classroom teachers collaborate regularly, taking the opportunity to brainstorm, plan, and learn with specialists in differentiation, reading, media resources, and learning resources. The staff also work diligently to meet the social and emotional needs of their students. Students know that their teachers respect them and are vested in their growth. They feel safe at school and can focus on learning. Students are comfortable taking risks and pushing themselves to achieve more. The Oak School parent community is dedicated to the school and provides support in a multitude of ways. The Parent-Teacher Organization actively raises funds to support field trips, cultural arts, extra-curricular activities, technology, and enhancements for the classroom. Volunteering at the school is a significant investment that Oak parents make, helping the school provide enriching learning opportunities, fun events, and office and library support. Oak School truly is a special place to learn and grow, inspire and engage. Whether someone is a student, staff member, or parent, they are proud to be a part of this outstanding learning environment.
