Brook Forest School Children

Brook Forest is a dynamic, innovative learning environment where that is committed to helping each and every child learn and excel. Serving approximately 330 students in K-5th grades, the entire staff takes great pride in helping students better themselves academically, culturally, physically, and socially. Brook Forest is unique. It is small, but rich in diversity and mighty in its program and support. Families have lofty expectations for their students, and Brook Forest strives to meet them. Brook Forest students consistently rank among the highest in the state on tests and earn top ranking on academic teams. Learning occurs at the highest levels. The school does this by assessing students and using data to set learning goals, adjusting the curriculum, and honing instructional practices. This is performed consistently by teachers in the classroom, at the grade level, and school wide. Brook Forest fosters relationships and engages families. Brook Forest is a family-centered school with unparalleled parent involvement. Yearly, Brook Forest hosts parent and extended family visits, holds forums and presentations, and offers a multitude of PTO-led events to nurture student learning and success. Brook Forest focuses on a multi-faceted curriculum centered on students. The curriculum promotes student growth, cultivates curiosity, and empowers students to take charge of their own learning. Brook Forest bolsters this with support for the whole child and engaging and meaningful activities to stimulate all learning styles such as with hands-on lessons and school-wide events like Chinese New Year, Biography Day, Colonial Fair, Science Fair, and much more.
