Prairie Elementary School, located in Cottonwood, Idaho, serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The school’s mission is to prepare students to live and work in a complex and interdependent society. Prairie Elementary acknowledges diversity and builds community by practicing hospitality, civility, and respect. Prairie Elementary has a school-wide Title I program, ensuring that all students, particularly those who are low-achieving, demonstrate proficient and advanced levels of achievement on state academic standards. The school is committed to specific goals and strategies that address those needs. Through instruction, adapted to meet each student at his or her learning needs, students master content utilizing textbooks and online curriculum. Prairie Elementary integrates online reading and math programs that support the adopted curriculum. Technological devices are in every classroom with immediate student access. Prairie Elementary faculty are passionate advocates of children. The district mission is "Every Child Learning Every Day." Staff embrace this philosophy as they work closely with one another to support children. Prairie Elementary is a "Distinguished School" as reported by the Idaho State Department of Education for above average test scores in reading and math.
