Big A Elementary School - Eastanollee, GA

Big A learns indoors and outdoors!

Big A learns indoors and outdoors!

Every Student can Succeed! Big A believes it and lives it! Big A is located in a rural community where there is little industry and many are economically deprived, but everyone still believes in success. Each student can and will succeed in some area. Big A must help find and "polish" those areas. Big A has challenges and opportunities. Traditionally, Big A strives for excellence. Big A thrives on support from its stakeholders. The school attempts to uplift each family through family nights, festivals, parent conferences, and many other opportunities to come and be a part of the school. Big A’s strength lies in its efforts to establish teamwork between faculty, students, and parents. The school must be flexible to meet the needs of the students. Big A loves to celebrate! The school offers a recycling club, a garden club, and a chorus. The school-wide garden responsibilities include planning, planting, maintaining, harvesting, and cooking vegetables as all content areas are involved. Staff base decisions on assessment results. The school stops each morning from 8:00-8:30 for Prime Time. This time is set aside for specific skills remediation and enrichment projects. All adults help the students, including the secretary, the nurse, and housekeeping team. Big A is preparing students for jobs that do not yet exist! Staff want the students to know what to do when they don't know what to do. The students are the laughter of today and the smile of tomorrow and a gleam in the eye of success. Nothing is more important than the students.
