NBRS Badge for Terrace Community Middle School

Terrace Community Middle School - Thonotosassa, FL

Preparing scholars and leaders for the 21st century.

Preparing scholars and leaders for the 21st century.

Terrace Community Middle School has, since 1998, provided thousands of students in the Tampa Bay area with a strong foundation of knowledge and a safe, secure learning environment. The school's back to basics philosophy focuses on teaching students how to read proficiently, write coherently and solve problems. Students leave TCMS with the tools they need to have successful academic careers. Former students are regular visitors who return to share how much of an impact the school had on both their personal and academic lives. TCMS believes strongly that its culture contributes to the success of its students. In addition to TCMS' academic program, character education is incorporated into the daily lessons. Developing strong character traits and learning how to be good citizens are an integral part of a student’s day. Our mantra is "Respect, responsibility, and results." Students are encouraged to participate in the diverse extracurricular activities that promote character development, teamwork, and community service. A well-rounded child is important to the culture of our school. TCMS administration practices what it preaches by hiring employees who share the school's vision and are held to the same high expectations as the students. TCMS is a not for profit charter school. Students are selected each year through a random lottery. No information about applicant's grades or test scores is requested on the application so no preference is given to children based on their academic performance. TCMS believes strongly that ALL children can learn.
