NBRS Badge for Lanai Road Elementary School

Lanai Road Elementary School - Encino, CA

Lanai

Lanai's Monday morning flag salute with students, parents and staff.

Lanai Road Elementary empowers students to be responsible citizens with a strong foundation in critical thinking, academics, character development, healthy choices, arts, science and technology. As a diverse public School for Advanced Studies comprised of a dedicated community of professional educators, staff, students and parents collaborating to provide a positive, safe learning environment, we maintain high expectations for all students to reach their maximum potential, while respecting each student’s unique abilities. We provide active learning opportunities and effective strategies meeting diverse student needs with an emphasis on respect for oneself and others, and the ability to lead successful and responsible lives in today’s complex and changing society. Lanai is a true community school reflecting our surrounding population with a Transitional Kindergarten Program, as well as a high-functioning Autism Without Walls program, where students with Autism participate in the general education setting. We maintain a tradition of excellence through various Booster Club-funded programs meeting the needs of the whole child, including Physical Education, Music, Science Lab, Computer Lab, and Intervention programs. As one of the top performing schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District, we are regularly visited by the Superintendent and Board Members as a model school for best practices because of our continual increase in API scores, and community involvement. We are a successful school with strong administrative and community support with a tradition of excellence and determination to persevere despite current economic challenges, providing a curriculum full of enrichment opportunities and rigorous academic programs.
