The William M. Davies Jr. Career and Technical High School provides Rhode Island students with access to a model academic and technical education rooted in a forty year tradition of providing students with a solid preparation in transferable technical skills and academic knowledge needed for success in both post-secondary education and entry into the workforce. Davies is a mixture of urban and suburban communities representing a racial, ethnic, and economic melting pot.

As a comprehensive and career and technical high school, students master their academic coursework while completing training in a technical program, resulting in achievement of high academic standards and earning industry certifications. Davies students demonstrate growth as we strive to improve curriculum, instruction, and assessment, resulting in the closing of achievement gaps in core academic areas. Our teachers assist students to meet these rigorous outcomes via engagement in high-quality professional development and data based decision-making.

In recent years, we have worked diligently to revitalize instructional practices and assessment techniques. Use of formative assessment, differentiated instructional strategies, professional development, curriculum modification/re-alignment, and collaboration to meet individualized student goals has resulted in the consistent improvement of student performance and achievement.

In partnership with the businesses community and institutions of higher education, Davies prepares students for promising careers in multiple fields such as: Robotics/Pre-Engineering, Health Careers, and Advanced Manufacturing. As we move forward, we look towards continued success by providing an educational environment of high expectations with multiple learning opportunities and by providing a foundation that enhances lifelong learning as well as implementing contemporary teaching strategies. Davies is preparing its graduates to meet the demands of the 21st century in a changing and demanding global economy.
