Shiloh Elementary School has been a landmark for students and their families since 1917. Visitors here immediately sense a community of kindness, safety, and respect. Expectations for behavior and student effort are maintained through our Positive Behavioral Intervention Support school-wide discipline system. There is a daily commitment to excellence from all members of the Shiloh staff.

Shiloh has a strong commitment to local and global communities. Last year, Shiloh was the only elementary school in North Carolina with both a VIF Global Gateway Grade Level and a VIF SPLASH Spanish Immersion class. We support a community food drive and our After School’s walk for cancer. Our International Family Night offers resources and a sense of belonging to families from diverse backgrounds. Classrooms celebrate grandparents and community leaders. The needs of families who suffer losses are met through our Memory Garden. This is a space for students and staff to meditate and celebrate lost loved ones.

The learning environment here meets the needs of all students. Our Buddies Learning Together program uses all staff to enrich the learning of students. We ensure student achievement through differentiated instruction. Our Intervention Team process has been critical in providing instruction to all students based on needs. As a result, we achieved the North Carolina School of Excellence award for 13 years.

The dedication of all stakeholders in our school community provides a rigorous and safe environment by meeting the social, emotional, and academic needs of students. Our cohesive community fosters a respectful environment where positive choices are made. After school clubs allow students to discover common interests that promote a positive social and emotional climate conducive to success.
